This summer has been an absolute whirlwind. I’ve been all over the place with competitions, training camps, clinics, and appearances that I’ve barely spent any time at home with my pup Champ. But there is nothing in the world I would trade my job for; I love what I’m doing and I love being able to connect with all of my fans, especially the younger kids. I know when I was in grade school I would hang on every word of my idols and wanted to be just like them. And I know that it is my responsibility to inspire the future wrestling stars and influence them in a positive way. One of my favorite things is receiving drawings and notes from the super young guys in the mail. Nothing quite beats how Crayola crayons look on printer paper, especially when they give me muscles bigger than my head. So I just wanted to thank all of you that have reached out to me in the past and tell you to keep them coming!
Anyway, I spent five days in Ann Arbor training with Jake Herbert and the Cliff Keen Wrestling Club. I’ll be hanging out with him a bunch over the next few weeks trying to control his mullet. He asked me to be his training partner, and since I’ll be out there as an alternate I thought it would be a good opportunity to get additional training in for the 2016 run.
I just came back from DC for a weekend getaway with my beautiful fiancé, Megan, before I leave her for my “business trip” aka “awesome weekend of wrestling in Colorado Springs”. Like I said I love my job, but I’m sure glad we have FaceTime these days so I can see her and my buddy Champ.
